During the residency I pass a few days in another area FUMAÇA a natural area and quite isolated mountain with breathtaking nature. I spend these days to experiment with the VLF receiver and  aluminum bamboo antenna. The previous days had assembled and welded the receiver [http://www.auroralchorus.com/bbb4rx3.htm BBB4 Bares Bones Basic Natural Radio,] a classic circuit designed by Stephen P. McGreevy and easy to get started in this field of listening VLF (0.1 to 15 kHz), and I built the whip style aluminum antenna of 2 meters assembled on a bamboo pole of 5 meters. The results were quite satisfactory.

A VLF receiver allows us to listen electromagnetic phenomena related to Earth's magnetic field "magnetosphere", as electric shock to many kilometers away, electromagnetic impulses and particles coming from the cosmos and colliding with the Earth's atmosphere.

During those days in Fumaça I located different places in the natural environment with particular magnetic fluctuation and I recorded sounds with the VLF receptor from this places. Also I made field recordings of the same places and I compose a few tracks with this two layer of sound materials. The audio have not any procces are totally raw material. Despite being in a fairly isolated environment was almost impossible not to hear the 60Hz power lines, with small variations depending on location. Each track corresponds to one of the places. Also I use audio material that comes from the glicht use of the VLF device using  plants, body, minerals such VLF antenna for the receiver, especially on the track 03 and 04. This glich producing a set of feedbacks.
